Following the success of the “1,000 Tons of Love Rice” campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic, One One continues its mission to support communities in need. This time, One One has donated 300 tons of rice to the northern mountainous provinces affected by Typhoon Yagi, bringing not only material aid but also a message of love and hope.

Overcoming Hardships, Sowing Seeds of Hope

The journey commenced in Cao Bằng, a border province at the northernmost point of Vietnam. One One's volunteer team reached the most remote and isolated areas to personally deliver 100 tons of rice to residents severely affected by landslides caused by Typhoon Yagi.

Local officials noted that Khánh Xuân commune in Bảo Lạc district is among the most disadvantaged areas, predominantly inhabited by ethnic minorities. Most households live in poverty, relying mainly on corn for sustenance, which remains insufficient, leading to frequent food shortages.

The rice distributed not only provided immediate relief but also served as a source of encouragement, spreading love and hope, and contributing to the building of a more sustainable and prosperous community.

Continuing the journey, One One donated an additional 200 tons of rice to residents in Thái Nguyên, Phú Thọ, Hưng Yên, and Hòa Bình provinces. Despite long distances and harsh winter conditions, the volunteer team traversed small villages to deliver rice directly to families in need.

This initiative extended beyond material support, conveying the message: "After the storm passes, love remains – A grain of rice for a peaceful Tết (Lunar New Year)."

Heartwarming Memories

One of the most memorable moments of the journey was visiting modest schools attended by children. In the biting cold, many children were barefoot and lacked warm clothing. However, upon receiving One One rice crackers, their eyes lit up with innocence and joy. These moments warmed the hearts of the entire team, alleviating the hardships faced during the journey.

Throughout the expedition, the bright smiles of the mountainous residents, the hospitality of local officials, and the unity within the volunteer team as they navigated treacherous paths created invaluable memories. These experiences painted a beautiful picture of love, hope, and sharing.

Such moments reinforced everyone's belief in the journey ahead, inspiring collective efforts to build a prosperous and happy community.
